The XL-B3 is a Sony® compatible L-Series replacement battery pack, which may be used with the Sound Devices 633 mixer or 7-Series audio recorders, the Video Devices PIX 240i camera-mount video recorder, and the Video Devices PIX-E Series of 4K recording monitors. It may be used as the primary power source or as an onboard backup power supply. Unlike Ni-Cad and NiMh batteries, the XL-B3 Lithium Ion battery pack does not have to be fully discharged before charging; however, it will naturally discharge itself over time. It is best to charge it the day before or same day you plan to use it. The XL-B3 is a 7.4 V, 7800 mAh battery pack that may be recharged whenever convenient via the SD-Charge battery charger. 

Things to consider when using the XL-B3 with any device: 

• Charging times will vary. Do not store if fully discharged; ideal charge capacity for storing a lithium ion battery is 40%. 
• Store the battery pack in an area which is free of moisture and at temperatures no higher than 30° C (86° F). 
• Operating times are shorter in temps lower than room temperature. The XL-B3 may be used between 0° and 40° (32° and 104° F), but will work best between temps of 10° and 30° C (50° and 86° F).
• Replace when performance declines below normal operation at room temps. 

Care: 

• Charge battery pack fully before operation. 
• Keep terminals clean and do not allow metal to touch terminals as it can damage the battery. 
• Disconnect when not in use.
